January News

Happiest of New Years and New Decades!

Beyond elated to be back in the gym teaching and working out with all of y’alls.

Hope everyone had some very joyful and wonderful times during the holiday seasons.

Looking forward to having everyone back in the gym ready to tackle the new year and new decade.

/Goes to Thailand once

i dunno if y’all noticed that i was gone fore the better part of December? Well, i can finally say i’ve been to Thailand, and more specifically, spent the whole time training muay thai. First few days were spent roaming around bangkok and training at Jitti Gym and Attachai Muay Thai gym.

Afterwards i headed south to Hua His to train at Sitjaopho Muay Thai gym for 2.5 weeks. It was a grind, the training was tough and competitive but i learned so much from it all.

Felt good being a student again- There is so much to say about it all but overall i would say it was a really good experience and am already planning my trip back next year. 🙂

I chronicled some of my thoughts on video from the first part of the trip. Check it out:

Upcoming Tournaments

A few events coming up for the team- If you’re interested in competing please let me (coach vik) know. We are always looking for athletes to compete. We have some people competing March in burbank at the Marriott which tend to be a ‘bigger profiled’ show .

If you are thinking of competing, and would like to try something with a little less ‘pressure’ as your first competition experience, then perhaps an ‘in-gym’ event or a ‘point’ muay thai match might be a good way to get your feet wet and see if this is something you would like to pursue further.

as always feel free to ask me about all of this if clarification is needed.

There is also the annual USMTO phoenix Muay Thai tournament that we go to every year. They are a great way to get multiple fights in on a weekend.

New Year?

Welp, that’s basically it- Just want to say thank you to the entire TBI community and staff for making TBI such a great place to train at.

Thank you to everyone that has made it to our community events as well to everyone that has helped out around the gym, from cleaning, to repairs, to helping the coaches and athletes out. Many thanks and much love and respect.
