May Newsletter

H E L L O.

Dang, May already- Alotta news to report!

Before I begin though, I just want to thank everyone on the great vibes we’ve been having the last couple of months.

Everyone has been so kind and helpful with new members, assisting the kids classes, for helping the athletes prepare and for looking after the place while I’m away learning and growing as a person and as a coach.

Appreciate you all immensely!

Also, here is a little quote on this month’s theme from our core values:  Humility

‘Think lightly of yourself and deeply of the world.’-  Miyamoto Musashi

Re:  Coach Erin’s Bout

Great performance by Coach Erin this past weekend- Congrats! 18th fight, got the W and another title under her belt.

Thank you to TBI coaches and members for your help in training her.

Thank you to Coach Jeannie and fight hubby Kyle for corner assist.

Thank you to all TBI members for your all positive energy, encouragement and attendance in

support.

And thank you to our sponsors for helping us in our journey

Kids Class Schedule Change:

Beginning May 20th, kids class schedule will change to Monday and Wednesday at 5PM only. This change is to accommodate for space and noise as both Kids class and Teens class continue to grow.

Hopefully this change will also allow for us to have more focused teaching time at both the kids and teen level.

For those of you that are on a Unlimited Kids training plan, you will be switched to a Part-Time Plan.

Reminder that the last Kids Class before the schedule change will be on Thursday, May 16 at 5PM.

Thank you for your understanding- Please speak to any of the kids coaches (Or Coach Vic) for any clarifying questions.

Adult Class Schedule Change:

I will be gone the last two weeks of May so there will be a slightly modified schedule.

No advanced classes from May 20th-May 31st.

No comp team practice on May 20th.

All other classes will be unaffected.  Please plan accordingly.

Thanks!

Closed for Memorial Day:

In observance of Memorial Day, we will be closed May 25th-May 27th.  Schedule resumes Tuesday May 28th.

Looking to Compete?

We have a few events coming up in the next couple of weeks that will give you that opportunity.

We are looking to have a few Member vs Member exhibition bouts for our Anniversary party next month.

It’s all very moderated and chill and more about putting on a performance vs actually fighting each other.

Please write your name and weight on the back white board if this speaks to you or if you are interested in the MDL as well.

GQ Article:

I (along with some other LA trainers) got interviewed by GQ Magazine about one of Jake Gyllenhaal‘s training videos for Road House.

I low key always HATED doing ab conditioning exercises.

Like getting hit with the thai pads while doing crunches. UGH.
