First of three instructionals on hand fighting/hand play advanced parrying techniques. This first one sets the groundwork on the theory behind the techniques as well as the first part of the series which focuses on the outside parry setup from southpaw. First half i just talk about my hand fighting insights, how i find it easier to hand fight or hand play from southpaw. When i say hand fight or hand play, i almost use those two terms interchangeably for the sake of laziness. To me they are basically the same, aside from the little nuances (handplay: keeping their guard occupied or controlling their arms/gloves, handfighting: position and grip jockying). Overall what i’m trying to convey is the sense of control. Anyways, second half i demonstrate the outside parry position and counters along with live sparring footage and application. Cool stuff!
