December Newsletter

HO HO HO.

Hi, hola!

T’is the end of an incredible year.  We’ve accomplished SO MUCH this last year and every year we set goals and smash them.

But this year just felt kinda special.

In hind sight, I’m taken back by how supportive our community has been to each other this last year.

The truest definition of service and unity and I am so grateful to be a part to it.

Thank you all for allowing me to pursue my passion.

For allowing me to coach and teach.

And thank you for granting me purpose.

With much love,

Coach Vic

Please note our holiday schedule:

We will be CLOSED on:

SAT and SUN Dec 24th and Dec 25th

And

SAT and SUN Dec 31st and Jan 1st

Year End Survey

Back in June I sent out a survey to our member base to see what exactly you guys thought of TBI as a whole, and how we can improve your experience.

Thank you for all that info.  And we listened!  New classes, amenities, equipment etc.

And now, a follow up survey!

I am ALWAYS trying to improve the training experience for everyone in order to create a safe, cohesive and conducive environment.

It would mean the world to me if I may have 2 minutes of your time and attention to fill out this quick survey.

This will help me create a better training experience for everyone and please note all replies are anonymous so please be as honest as possible.

Check your inbox for survey link.

MANY THANKS.

Schedule Changes for Coach Nate and Myself

Starting in January, Coach Nate and I will be switching our classes up.  Meaning, I will be teaching Coach Nates Monday and Wednesday Classes (6PM and 7PM) and Coach Nate will be teaching my classes on those scheduled days and times.

As much as I am enjoying teaching the Advanced and Competition classes, I do miss working with all the newer members of TBI and also this allows Coach Nate to be able to apply his vast knowledge of the sport to our more advance member base.

Looking forward to working with everyone!

My Surgery

As for myself, I will be a bit incapacitated for a few weeks while I recover from an elbow surgery.

I will be in a soft cast for about 3 weeks and the I believe I will be starting  Physical Therapy then after.  At the moment I don’t know to what extent I will be able to use my elbow after the soft cast but will definitely need to come together to help in place of my inability to hold pads during classes when we have the odd person out, or for our athletes as they prepare for the 2023 competition season.

Thank you all for your understanding and best wishes.  I’ll be ok.  I think.

Coach Erins Fight

Coach Erin is set to compete this weekend, Saturday  Dec 17th in Emeryville, CA (Bay Are).

They will be fighting for the ‘Victoriam Sekai’ promotion facing the #1 ranked Canadian fighter at 139 pounds for the National WBC amateur title.

There’s supposed to be a PPV stream for it but don’t have any info about yet.  Will keep you all posted about it.

Big thank you to everyone that has helped both Coach Erin and Coach Jeannie for their bouts.

Wish us luck!

Coach Jeannie and Gregg Compete Next Month!

TBI Goes to Thailand

14 of us spent 17 days in Thailand training at Sitjaopho Muay Thai Camp this last October. You may recognize Sitjaopho Muay Thai campo along with their head instructor Kru F from the various videos found on instagram.

It’s the videos that show beautiful technique along with a personable attitude of the head coach and camp that attract so many visitors to the sleepy seaside town of Hua Hin where the camp is located. I talk about why we did this trip, what the training is like, what Hua Hin is like along with living and driving around the city.

Join us on our visit through Hua Hin and Sitjaopho Fight Camp.
