August! Omfg.
And it is WARM. Make sure you stay dry, keep your equipment dry and keep an extra clean shirt in case you are doubling up on classes.
Also, on that note. Some of you are asking whether your membership allows you to double up on classes, yes!
For example: If you have the ‘2X’ option you can come in for your first class (6PM for example) and then stay for the 7PM class as part of your membership.
As long as you are not coming in for more than the allotted amount per week. (2 days within the week).
Hope that helps. Also please be mindful that you are only coming in for the amount allowed for your membership.
It hurts when I see people go over their memberships and it breaks my heart to have those conversations with them to remind them of the amount allowed. 😢
Thank you!

Re: Jade Wins
After 5 hard-fought rounds, Jade walks away with the W. Congrats to her and much respect to our opponent for such a tough fight. Thank you all TBI members and as well as our community around the world for your support.
TBI Comp team is 6-0 in this year’s competition. Thank you to everyone that has helped make this happen, especially all the coaches that make up the TBI team.
Proud of y’all!
MDL in El Segundo
What is an MDL? It stands for ‘Muay Thai Development League’. Kind of a competition but not.
No winner or loser, a safer alternative to ‘PKB’s’. Can be done without a fight camp in preparation but being fit is a requisite because you will get tired. 🙂
They are having one in EL Segundo next Saturday, August 3rd. Check out the link below for all details and if you want to sign up, go for it and let me know. We already have a few peoples ready to go.
Any questions? Let me know. Thanks!

Staph
Guys. What are we doing here? If I see some nasty shit on your arms, face, legs, etc., I will kick you out of class. I don’t care if you get pissy with me. If you need advice talk to me please.
I cannot have anyone put the members at risk of sickness. Please be mindful and considerate.
I have mentioned this in the last couple of emails. If you don’t know what to look for google: ‘Staph infection on skin’.
Often times it starts off as a pimple or ‘spider bite’.

Hygiene Reminder
Summer has arrived, so let’s keep ourselves and our equipment clean and dry. This includes wiping down equipment, changing t-shirts, washing hand wraps, and using clean wraps and gym clothes. Trim your nails and be mindful of cuts and abrasions. If you notice any unusual skin conditions, seek help immediately. Infections can happen, so it’s important to address them promptly by seeing a doctor.
What Are Staph Infections on the Skin?
- Cause: Bacteria called Staphylococcus aureus
- Types: Boils, impetigo, cellulitis
- Symptoms: Red, swollen, painful areas; pus-filled blisters; warmth; fever; spreading rash
- Treatment: See a doctor
- Prevention: Good hygiene, clean and cover wounds, avoid sharing personal items, shower after physical activity, sanitize surfaces
Thanks!
Survey
If you haven’t yet: It would mean the world to me if I may have 2 minutes of your time and attention to fill out this quick survey.
This will help me create a better training experience for everyone.
Please note all replies are anonymous so be as honest as possible. 😅
Many Thanks!!
Will leave it open for one more week then close it out. Thank you to everyone that has answered. I appreciate all feedback, opinions and any actionable advice.
New Class to Replace Beginners Clinch Class
One of the biggest requests so far in the newsletter was ‘more sparring’ so in lieu of ‘Beginners Clinch’ we will have an open format sparring clinch class. 8 rounds of Muay Thai sparring and 6 rounds of Muay Thai clinching.
There will be no drills in this class, and the clinch portions will consist of 3 rounds of clinching with gloves, and 3 rounds of clinching without gloves. If you don’t know how to clinch, we will use that time to teach you the basics. Or just hop into Wednesday’s 7PM class and we’ll figure it out then.
This new format will be set to start on Thursday, August 15th. We will leave it open registration at first but if the classes get too big then we will have to cap it and have people pre-register via our online system.
